Courses Offered

BHCNMT offers a portfolio of nursing and allied medical-technology programmes designed to meet the standards of the Indian Nursing Council, the J&K Paramedical Council, and the curricula of the University of Kashmir.

1. B.Sc. Nursing — 4 Year Degree

A four-year graduate programme that prepares the student to practice as a professional nurse in hospital, community, and academic settings.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with minimum 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories).
  • Age: 17 to 25 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Affiliation: University of Kashmir.
  • Approval: Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
  • Intake: 40 seats per year.

2. General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) — 3.5 Year Diploma

A three-and-a-half-year diploma programme producing skilled bedside nurses with strong midwifery competence and community-care orientation.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 (any stream) with minimum 40% aggregate; preference for Science/Arts with English.
  • Age: 17 to 35 years.
  • Approval: Indian Nursing Council & J&K Nursing Council.
  • Intake: 50 seats per year.

3. Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) — 2 Year Diploma

A two-year programme focused on primary, maternal, and child health care — preparing graduates for service primarily at the community and rural-health levels.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with minimum 40% aggregate.
  • Age: 17 to 35 years.
  • Approval: Indian Nursing Council.
  • Intake: 30 seats per year.

4. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) — 2 Years

A diploma programme equipping students to operate as competent technologists in clinical pathology, biochemistry, microbiology, and modern diagnostics.

  • Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology with minimum 40% aggregate.
  • Age: 17 to 35 years.
  • Approval: J&K Paramedical Council.
  • Intake: 30 seats per year.
